Future Colors of America
San Francisco, CA — FFDG is pleased to present the Los Angeles based trifecta known as “The Future Colors of America” (Albert Reyes, Matt Furie, and Aiyana Udesen) in their third show with the gallery running Sept 13 through Oct 12, 2013. The psychedelic mashup will feature both individual and collaborative drawings on paper. An opening reception is scheduled on Friday the 13th (7-10pm). Refreshments will be available.
Each artist uses top-secret alien technology to deliver completed collaborative drawings. Believing themselves to be a rolling fun trio, the three artists seek to unravel the many mysteries of the megaverse by drawing, among other things, Lindsay Lohan, Pamela Anderson and Angelina Jolie. There is a cartoon world, an alien world, a ghetto world and a psychedelic world. Each of these worlds collide and feed off of one another, making an interesting display to look at and think about.
Aiyana Udesen is an amazing craftsman who focuses on detailed figurative drawings and richly colored botanical illustrations. Albert Reyes brings a razor-sharp edge to the mix, providing bloody faces and big asses in a style reminiscent of chicano prison art. Matt Furie is the cartoon guy, focussing on skulls, eyeballs, and anteater/wife hybrids. This will be the trio’s 4th exhibition, three of which have been at FFDG.
